I had this card done and mailed out over a week ago because it was for a Halloween Birthday. I haven’t supplied the deets for this card yet because unfortunately I have been under the weather for weeks now and just can’t seem to kick it. Anyhoo, I do want to try to participate in a few challenges and I just love the Sugar Bowl Challenge. All of the deets for this card are written down for me to add later, but I did use Stampin Up Cardstock, K & Co DP and Copics for coloring.I hope to participate in more challenges soon since I have a nice collection of Hanglars going on along with my Maggies but I just don’t feel like I have the ability to compete out there. I feel like a wee one with all of that talent floating around~smile~

I had ordered the whole set of Sassy Girls figuring that I would definitely use one of those….waiting on pins and needles when they come on the very last day of the challenge, right, but I really had to use one of the stamps from this set since the theme was Autumn.

I guess I’ll use one of my girls next go round. Here is my card, hope you like it.  I will be back later with all of the deets on it.  For now I have to go fix dinner.

Anyhoo, I just finished a card for my Grandaughters birthday and thought I would share it with you.  I just love all of the Sugar Nellie stamps but these Manga girls are adorable.My camera skills need a little work…or a lot I guess LOL.  This picture really doesn’t capture the personality of the card.

Mia, our granddaughter, is a princess…just ask her!  So the only color that will work for this princess is PINK.

Unfortunately there are things on the card that you probably can’t really see.  I made it a point to make the image sit exactly on the edge of the bottom layer of paper.  Also I used glossy accents to puff up her hair bow and then I ended up pretty much hiding it by framing the Manga image.  I have texturized her boots with copic blending solution on a piece of old terry cloth. Last I framed her to set her off and make her kind of pop out at you…which worked but I had to soften that just a bit with some whitewashing on the borders  of the frame.

I then added gems with my new I-Rock tool, to the top of the frame to make it kind of look like a Crown.  Last but not least I added this awesome flower that I received from Jacque. It’s from Wild Orchid flowers and I just added a little yellow stickles to give it some zip.

Materials used: Stampin Up Pink Pirouette cardstock, the DP is DCWV Sweet Stash. I used Nestabillities Labels 10 and Imaginisce assorted bling and the tool. Wild Orchid Paper Flower.

I have been on the computer very little because I just have not had the energy to look around.  I have been a total couch potato…and I don’t even watch t.v. so as you can well imagine it has been a very long few weeks.

The House Mouse Challenge is Red-Orange-Yellow and I wanted to participate this time.

Then last night around 9pm I remembered I had to get my brother’s birthday card made for Monday….yikes! Yes, I knew it was his birthday but I have been sick with “Acute, nasty, bronchitis”. This was the doctor’s official diagnosis, lol, but I really do have to agree with him.

I put this card together way too fast, and it shows, and my brother is stuck with a mouse, with these colors and this layout so that I could enter 3 challenges with one card.  Sorry Chuckie)-:  Sure hope he likes mice.

The cardstock is Stampin Up Dusty Durango, the DP was in a little gift pack so I don’t know but sure wish I had more. Colored with copics E00, E33, E35, E37, R20, C8, Y15, Y18, YR15, YR18, YG63 and multiple spicas. The ribbon is just from my stash and the bling is from K & Co.

The challenges I would like to enter this card in are:

My first easel card…yeah for me. I came across a blog candy that I wanted to enter and I had just over an hour to make this card, take pics and post.

Okay….I got my card entered so now I can edit this posting.  The blog candy is on Angie’s page where you had to make an easel card using brown and red.I tried to get decent pics but I was having a hard time with this for some reason.Anyhoo, these are the pics I decided to upload.  You know how you take 20 pictures and then narrow it down to just one or two views, LOL, I so hope I’m not the only one that does that.

This card was made with the Stampin Up Winter Post stamp set; Stampin Up cardstock-choc chip, ruby red and very vanilla.  I used close to cocoa ink along with a little choc chip and old olive.  It was all basic cuts except for the MS punch for the leaves with the flower (they were colored with copic G99).  I then just rolled the edges a little bit to give it an old time look.  Last I added three Basic Grey opaline perles to hold the card up.  The flower was from my flower box so I have no idea where it’s from.

That’s it for my first easel card….boy was that quick!!!  I hope you enjoyed this post.  Let me know what you think of my first easel.  I’m definitely open to any and all suggestions.

I would like to add this card to Bunny Zoe”s challenge where this month it is vintage!

I hope you are all having a great weekend. Personally I have found a lousy sore throat and cold somewhere and it has kept me in bed all day.
However when I just checked my blog I was amazed at the over whelming number of people interested in this little rosette.  I just made another one and it took me about 3-4 minutes just so you have an idea how long it takes.  This time I cut the paper with a scalloped edge before I cut the strip size I wanted to use.  I also went down a little in size to 1″.  I will put the pictures here in the order of how I made the Tim Holtz type Rosette.  Also, I used light weight paper because I was just trying this out and Tim I believe uses 80lb paper for this.Since I have already listed the supplies and steps in the post before this one I thought this picture would be enough.  As you can see I held the Rosette closer together in the middle this timeAfter I finished this one I decided to dress it up a bit so I found a clear button to fit the center.  I then colored the button with my copic C35 and tied a piece of crochet thread in the middle of it.As you can see it definitely finishes it off…I love it.  The finished size of this is 2 1/2″ and I’m sure you can make it any size you want.  In Tim’s video he shows where he has cut some of these in half to make a bunting like you would see for the 4th of July.  You just have to make sure the cut side is covered with chipboard to prevent it from coming apart.

Now on to my happy mail!!!  Today I received a package from none other than Jacque.  If you have not seen her work you are missing some of the most beautiful work out there.
I was lucky enough to need a baby girl card when she was offering one….oooh it’s going to hurt to give this up.Even the inside of her cards are a work of art!!!This came in a plastic box that is just perfect for giving to the lucky mommy.Not only did she send me the card though, as if that’s not enough right…..she also sent me some Wild Orchid Crafts flowers which is totally awesome because I have never used any before.  Of course I am off to make her a thank you card…but I’m scared to death…my cards look like a 5th grader’s compared to hers.

You need so few tools that I’m sure you all have them or can improvise.  All you need is a 12″ sheet of DP, your paper-cutter, I used my Scor–Buddy which is the smaller version of the Scor-Pal, 1″ punch, glue….that’s it!Here are the tools you need…I used glue dots but you don’t have to.In this picture is one completed Rosette and I cut a strip of paper 12″ by 1 1/4″.  I ave also punched out a 1″ circle for the base.Scor your paper every 1/4″.  On the Tim Holtz die one side is scalloped to give it a finished edge.  This is just my second attempt and I haven’t tried to scallop it yet but I’m quite sure it can be done.I turned it over and ran the Scor tool on the back also to make the paper easier to fold…just my preference.After you have Scor’d your paper you will need to cut one of the ends off so that when you fold the paper it lines up properly.This is what your paper will look like after you have folded it up accordion style.  Don’ try to hold it all in your hand, just make sure you keep folding in the right direction.After you are done folding-glue the ends together-they will match up perfectly if you have cut off one of the ends.  Be sure to have the design you want showing on the inside of the circle as the picture shows.Here is where I used my glue dots but you can use any kind of glue.  I also have the small piece I cut off showing so you can see that I have only cut off 1/4″.Now you’re going to gather the strip of paper and hold it together kind of like a small cupcake holder and set it onto whatever you have chosen to use for your base.  Be sure to press down so that it sticks good and doesn’t pop back off.While you are still holding this just push the paper out and down at the same time.  Your glue will hold it in place now.  You will then need another 1″ punch out to cover the top.Since I had used Halloween type paper I punched out a pumpkin.
As I said, this is just the second one I made but I think the possibilities are endless.  For my next one I will definitely try a scallop on the outside and decorating the middle with something more than just a pumpkin face.

I tried my darndest to get this one finished on time too but it didn’t quite make it.  Isn’t she a cutie anyway?  I had actually missed the cutoff by about a minute…as the phone was ringing and I was loading this picture into my netbook.  Oh well, she isn’t any good for the contest but I’m sure I can find some use for her.

Anyway, this is my Manga Girl #1 from Sugar Nellie.  I used Bazzill cardstock and the DP is Cloud 9 Harvest Holiday.  The saying is from JustRite-Witch Way to the Treats and I used my Stampin Up scalloped punch around it.  She was colored with copics:  E000, E00, E21 R20, Y23, YR23, E35, E33, YG03, V17, C0 and Spicas melon, gold, clear lavender and buttermilk.

I hope the rest of you have taken the time to enter the challenge because the prizes are great and all of their stamps are top quality.

THE GREETING FARM BLOG HOP IS HERE!!!!

The challenge was Farm Fresh Fridays – Floss It.  You had to add floss, string, twine or something you could tie to your card.  I added the buttons to the corners and tied bows with twine.  Not very inventive but it worked for me.

This was colored with my copics and copic spicas.  I pulled out so many DP’s I don’t honestly remember which one I used.  The blue card was from a pack I bought at JoAnn just called blue.  Other assorted blues just to make a variety.  I know not a lot of information.  I’ll try to do better in the future (-:

I have been sick with dizziness for about 10 days now which has made it kind of difficult to get around.  Thank goodness I think that’s about done with now.

I have had a few challenges I wanted to try to enter and I have just barely missed the deadlines)-:  Anyhoo, last night hubby reminded me he needed a sympathy card for a coworker that had lost her mother.  Even though I have been off work for two years now due to my own health I have worked with this woman for many years.

Since I knew it was the cutoff for the Sugar Bowl challenge (theme blue) I decided to make the card in blue.  Of course my husband didn’t quite understand why I had a little girl on the front of a sympathy card.  So I had to explain that I would take care of that with the message inside.

I came across the perfect paper…I thought, that makes the young girl look like she is being carried away by birds.  This made me think of wings, you know, maybe angel wings….I don’t know, I hadn’t thought that far ahead yet.  I just knew I liked the paper and it was already 1:00 A.M!!!  So I put my card together….all in blue as requested, even colored my white ribbon with my copics to match her blue jeans.

Then the fun began.  Just what was I going to write to incorporate the birds????  By now it was very late.   I thought and I thought.  I scribbled and I scribbled.  I finally came up with:

Most of all the other beautiful things in life come by 2′s and 3′s, by dozens and hundreds.  Plenty of roses, stars, sunsets, rainbows, aunts, cousins, brothers and sisters.  But only one mother is given to you to cherish for life.  Even though she is gone now cherish your memories and hold them dear for they will get you through this.

I’m so sorry we were unable to be with you, but we were with you in spirit – each of us holding you up on one side as if being held by wings.

I know, kind of corny, but by the time I finished it was 6:00 A.M. and I just wanted to go to bed. The supplies I used are Stampin Up Night of Navy cardstock, DP Making Memories – Chloe’s Closet.
