WooHoo Another Award!

My dear friend Jessica  ( http://www.scrappiegirl.blogspot.com )   has bestowed an award on me.

This award itself is a piece of art, but it is a piece of art I certainly never expected to receive.  So, to Jessica aka Glitter Bella, I offer a very sincere and heartfelt “Thank You”!  I know I sound like a Magpie but you Bellas are the greatest ~ you Rock!

Now I need to get busy and make some cards so I can feel like I have earned this awesome award.

Java…..Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!  You have made my day. http://www.javablustamper.blogspot.com

This award is given to those listed below for INSPIRING me with their ART and CREATIVITY! For that my FRIENDS I just want to say THANK YOU!

Here are the WONDERFUL people who INSPIRE me! Thank you!

First off I would like to say that there are so many great blogs out there it is very hard to choose just a few and every blog is inspiring in it’s own way.  With that said I would like to award the following people with the Javablu award.

Mel  http://www.hulachickabella.blogspot.com/  who is new to our group and adds so much spunk I just wish I could bottle it up and take it with me.

Tangi http://tangerinesdreamcreations.blogspot.com/  who we all know is so multi-talented we are always learning from her.

Lisa http://www.bylisac.blogspot.com/  I just love everything she posts, again multi-talented.

Theresa http://lil-bittacreativity.blogspot.com/ my first bella sistah that has helped me along the way.

Jessica http://www.scrappiegirl.blogspot.com/  my dear friend Glitter Bella from clear around the world who makes awesome bella cards with her family.

Now on to other things.  I haven’t been making many cards lately because things have been just a little hectic around here.  We were all very excited because we were going to have four new babies in the family!  We have a new grandson named Marcus born July 14th who of course is beautiful.  I also had two nieces and one nephew all expecting babies in their families.  Therefore, I have been focusing my time on making baby things instead of cards.  Sadly, my niece lost her baby a couple of weeks ago and then two days ago my nephew lost his baby.  This is just so difficult and I’m not even the one that lost a baby.  There is nothing I can do for anyone and I absolutely hate feeling helpless.

The couple of cards I have made are:

I made this card for a teenage birthday.  It was fun but the little pieces were kind of tedious.  I think it turned out okay though.

This is the first card I have ever made as a sketch challenge, to be entering it for blog candy is a little nerve wracking for me.  This absolutely awesome blog is Trina’s Timeless Treasures and you can still enter by going there http://trinastreasures.blogspot.com/  I had lost the name of Trina and her blog for a short while but I am persistent and as you can see her it is…I found it!!  I think you have until the end of the month to enter her drawing…good luck to all.

Aren’t these just adorable?  I made them with the Cuttlekids.  I picked them up because I figured I could use them for little kids cards and baby showers.  Of course that was before we lost the babies-but I know I will still get a lot of use out of them in the future.

Take care bellas…keep up the great work because even though I’m not making any cards I sure am enjoying yours!

My next choice is Sarah at http://www.sarahmarmstrong.blogspot.com/  Sarah is a newbie just like me and I think she is doing excellent work.

My next choice is Jamie at http://www.jaymerzstamps.blogspot.com/  Every time I go to her blog I know I will start out with a smile just because she shows her faith so prominently for all of us to see.  Her cards are wonderful and I love having the sketches there too.

I Have an Award!!

Apparently I have been nominated for this award twice now.  The first time was last week and it was quite an awesome surprise since I am so new to this and have no clue what I am doing yet.  Then just a few minutes ago I was blog surfing and came across my name again for this same award so I thought I better post  it.  You ladies have both made my day and I thank you both from the bottom of my heart.

The first person to nominate me was Debby from http://debbysstuff.blogspot.com/

The next person to nominate me was Jacqueline from http://www.sparklescharmsandbows.blogspot.com/

The Rules are:
1. Winners can put the logo on their blog.
2. Link the person you received your award from.
3. Nominate at least 7 other blogs.
4. Post the name and the links of the 7 that you are giving the award to.
5. Leave a message on the blogs of the people you have nominated.

At this time I am at a complete loss as to who to pick for the award.  I thought it was hard when I had to pick 7 but now 14, holy cow.  First I would like to thank all of you out there that take the time to look at my blog and support my minimal talent.  Please consider this an award to all of you too.

One last thing before I go.  My last blog was definitely a little dramatic for me.  But I just have to say thank you to all of the ladies out there that have sent me wonderful emails and messages full of hope and support.  I am so glad I found this group of ladies~you are all so special in so many ways.  I look forward to making friends and learning the craft of card making with all of you.

Good Morning Ladies! Blog Candy Coming!

Top of the morning to you all! I don’t have any cards to post, I guess I just really need to vent. I have been off from work for over 6 months now trying to recover from injuries and go back to work. You see, I need both of my knees replaced terribly because I can barely walk, but due to allergies to metals this is not an option for me. I went to the doctor’s office yesterday, again, about my knees but hubby went with me this time.  They finally wore me down and got me to agree to a Permanent Disability.  I have been argueing with the doctor about this for over 2 years now, but my most recent slip and fall incident in February has made me pretty much useless as far as the doctor is concerned in a working environment. I have no idea what all this Permanent Disability involves besides reams of paperwork and a major paycut, if I even get one when all of the dust settles.  I haven’t had a paycheck for the last 6 months so right now I’m afraid to even think about what the future holds in store for me. During this very low time in my life is when I discovered the beauty and love of card making–along with the cost of it too LOL.  I cannot even tell you how much I look forward to all of your blogs and your beautiful cards.  Maybe someday I will learn some of your craft just through your love of the craft too.

After spending many hours just feeling sorry for myself I decided there are things I can still do.  I just turned 50 years old – a wee bit to young to be put out to pasture.  Although I currently have to walk with a walker and the doctor has ordered a wheelchair (yuck) to get me out of the house, I am going to try a remember to count my blessings every day when I get up.  I have already looked into crocheting hats for babies and adults that need them due to chemo.  I also posted a link on my blog where you can make cards and donate them to a group of cancer survivors and their families.  I may not be able to get around but my heart is just as big as ever and I will find the way to help those in more need than myself.

Well, it’s after 2:00a.m. here and I guess my pity party time is up.  Thanks for allowing me to share this with you although I know this is not what our blog is about.  I think one of the first things I’m going to do is make up a reason to have a Blog Candy offering.  Yep, definitely the best idea I’ve had all night.  I feel better already just thinking about it!  I will post about it soon.

Thank you all so much for listening.

Take Care

    &

God Bless!

Time For Some New Cards!!!

I have been feeling a little down so I’ve spent a lot of time looking at blogs.  Everyone out there is so freaking creative!.  I get so tangled up just looking at the paper I can’t figure out what to do with it.  I finally did complete a couple of cards though, so I will share them with you.

I absolutely fell in love with this background paper.  The card didn’t need anything else even though I have been trying to add some ribbon or something to my cards to give them some zing.  The cardstock is SU and it’s colored with colored pencils and Copic Spica glitter pens.

This card took me hours to complete!  It’s SU groovy guava & old olive cardstock, don’t know the background paper.  I didn’t have any flowers–just because I don’t have any.  I found a pack laying around that had been 50% off that were white and said things like snow, frolic, icicles…you get the picture.  Well, of course that wouldn’t work.  I finally took one of those winter themed flowers and colored it with my colored pencils and MADE IT match my cardstock.  Whew!!! I finally finished it and got to go to bed.

I have a new Fiskars border punch and I love it.  It’s pretty much the same size as the new SU one but it has the holes puched out.  Of course mine was 40% off too.  This was the last card from a class I took a few weeks ago–I just colored her and put her together over the weekend though.  Don’t know anything about the paper except cheap stock (all but my SU I mounted it all on).

I went to a SU demo over the weekend and I just had to share this card with you because I absolutely love it.  It’s made with one of the brand new sets-of course I don’t know the name of it.  All of the mistakes are mine but the design was Eva’s, the demonstrator.

I have absolutely no idea what you would call this card besides fun.  I was just goofing off a while ago and this is what I came up with.  I used the white glossy card stock to start with.  I have one of those kaleidoscope ink color pads and just never knew what to do with it. What do you think?

Well that’s all for now.  Hope all is well with everyone around the globe in our sassy little bella world.

Good Afternoon to all!!

Hello sistahs!  It is an absolutely glorious day here in Michigan.  No humidity – you can actually go outside and not feel like you want to crawl back in.  I haven’t made any cards in a couple of weeks now but I wanted to post something anyway.  My minimal talent needs lots of practice but I find myself spending most of my time reading blogs now and getting  nothing else done.  The following two cards are ones I made at a Bella card class.  I learned the gamsol / colored pencil technique there.  I loved it…any mistakes and poof you just erase them.  I can take no credit for the layouts but the mistakes are all mine.

The next cards I have made on my own just playing around with nothing in particular in mind.  I still haven’t found exactly what I like or my own style yet.  I sure do see a lot of styles I like on all of the blogs out there though.  So take a peek!

Don’t you just love this bella stamp?  I got her from a sistah in the mail..thankyou..thank you..thank you..

I absolutely loved this background paper but just didn’t know how to use it very well.  The significance of the butterlies is, it’s the symbol for fibromyalgia from which I have suffered from for about 10 years now.

Here is my very favorite card so far.  Can you get any more basic?  I told you I’m a simple kind of person.  There you have it now.  All of my many bellas.  I guess I will just have to get busy and make some more.  Possibly spend less time reading, right LOL

Hope you all have a great weekend and I look forward to all of your blogs.  Keep up the awesome work.

Hello Bella Babes!!

Hi all-

I have been trying to play around with this blog a little bit.  I find it fun but intimidating at the same time.  Eventually I will figure it out I’m sure.  Besides I have all of you to ask questions, right?

Here are a couple more cards I did.  I haven’t done any for a week or so but I didn’t want to put all of my cards up on one posting and bore all of you to death.  Not that I have that many really.  I enjoy coloring the pictures more than I do making the cards.  Must be my childhood rearing its ugly head LOL.

Yes, I do wish I could ride a bike

This next card is one I made for my brother.  His birthday is coming up this month so I thought I would try making a card for him.  Of cours it’s not a bella.

Driving by with a Birthday Hi!

Thanks for looking.  I will gladly accept any criticism–good or bad.

Where It Starts

So… this is the card that hooked me:

My 50th Birthday Card.
My 50th Birthday Card.

A very dear friend of mine sent me this card for my 50th birthday.  I had to find out what stamp she used and what she colored it with.  Thus the beginning of bellas and copics.  So far I have only made a few bella cards myself and I must admit they aren’t the greatest but they are certainly fun.  Here is my first card! (Look familiar?  Copying is flattery right?)

I Finally Have A Blog!

I can’t believe it!  I actually have a blog of my own!  I have been admiring everyone’s blogs and had absolutely no idea how to create one of my own.  I still don’t!  I had my son create it for me.  Love you baby-mwah-mwah-mwah!!!

I am the very lucky mother of 4 beautiful children, 2boys and 2 girls.  Almost the brady bunch since we are a blended family of my boys and his girls.  I have 3 grandchildren, oh my god they are wonderful.  I also have 2 dogs under foot all the time along with a devoted hubby that likes lots of attention.  Needless to say there is not a lot of time for stamping.

I’m actually a newbie to stamping and a brand newbie to bellas.  I’m very intimidated by putting everything together and hoping it looks okay when I’m finished.  Your many blogs have helped give me inspiration and many ideas that I have tried to put to use here.  I know I have a long way to go but I’m willing to learn-much to the dismay of my hubby.  Every time I stamp I have to pull everything out and make a major mess on my kitchen table.  Does anyone have any tips on how to make a little less of a mess since I don’t have a craft room or area?

Okay I will stop rambling for now and try to figure out how to include a picture here.
