Happy Anniversary TGF!!!!

Well….today’s the big day everyone’s been waiting for.  It’s been 2 years since The Greeting farm has been with all of us, or we’ve been with them, either way it’s been a great time of growing. Make sure to start at TGF Blog to see a list of all the participants and all the details!

Remember, there are PRIZES to be had! TGF is giving away THREE sets of the ENTIRE release to three random commenters WHO ARE PARTICIPATING in tonight’s hop. In addition, there areFIVE Cupcake Anya digis up for grabs to random commenters whether or NOT they participated…so get out there and see everyone’s AWESOME creations.

There have been many additions to the line over the past two years so you have many different choices to fit your own personal style.  For this Blog Hop I have chosen PENNY WITCH because I fell in love with this cute little mouse.

Penny Witch is made of Stampin Up Always Artichoke, Basic Black, and Bazill Purple cardstock.  The DP is DCWV Fall Glitter Stack ’09, Debbie Mumm Holiday ’09, K & Company Jen Yanouk.

Colored with Copics:  Colorless blender, C0, C2, C4, C8, C9,  R20, RV000, RV32, RV34,  YR16, YR18,  YG63,  V17 was painted with colorless blender in an aqua brush.  Copic spicas used are clear, gold, silver, pitch black, blossom, orange, melon (green), lavender.

This is a day of first’s for me.  My first blog hop…yeah!  Also my first attempt at a Tri-Fold Card.  This card looks a little plain on my blog but in person it is just full of glitter and personality.  I don’t know if it’s my camera or the person taking the pictures..lol.

I apologize for all of the photos but I didn’t know any other way to give you the full effect of the card.

Now hurry on over to The Greeting Farm for your next step along this awesome blog hop.  I know it’s going to be a busy day for everyone so be sure to grab something to drink and a few munchies to get you through.

Remember you have until 11:59 am central time, Monday, August 2, to complete the hop since there are so many stops along the way. They will announce the winners on TUESDAY’s post.

Happy hopping everyone and good luck to all!

TGF 2yr Anniversary Blog Hop - August 1st

My First Greeting Farm Challenge Entry!

Well, I have talked about trying to blog more and make more cards.  I figured the best way to do that is to put myself on deadlines with challenges.  So far I am doing so so, I see more challenges than I can possibly keep up with.  I decided to try one for The Greeting Farm…which is a first for me.

The challenge was Farm Fresh Fridays – Floss It.  You had to add floss, string, twine or something you could tie to your card.  I added the buttons to the corners and tied bows with twine.  Not very inventive but it worked for me.

This was colored with my copics and copic spicas.  I pulled out so many DP’s I don’t honestly remember which one I used.  The blue card was from a pack I bought at JoAnn just called blue.  Other assorted blues just to make a variety.  I know not a lot of information.  I’ll try to do better in the future (-:

This posting is actually late because the entry was Friday 7/28.

I’ll be back tomorrow for my very first blog hop!!!!  Until then everyone have a great night.

A New Card For A Dear Friend

I have been sick with dizziness for about 10 days now which has made it kind of difficult to get around.  Thank goodness I think that’s about done with now.

I have had a few challenges I wanted to try to enter and I have just barely missed the deadlines)-:  Anyhoo, last night hubby reminded me he needed a sympathy card for a coworker that had lost her mother.  Even though I have been off work for two years now due to my own health I have worked with this woman for many years.

Since I knew it was the cutoff for the Sugar Bowl challenge (theme blue) I decided to make the card in blue.  Of course my husband didn’t quite understand why I had a little girl on the front of a sympathy card.  So I had to explain that I would take care of that with the message inside.

I came across the perfect paper…I thought, that makes the young girl look like she is being carried away by birds.  This made me think of wings, you know, maybe angel wings….I don’t know, I hadn’t thought that far ahead yet.  I just knew I liked the paper and it was already 1:00 A.M!!!  So I put my card together….all in blue as requested, even colored my white ribbon with my copics to match her blue jeans.

Then the fun began.  Just what was I going to write to incorporate the birds????  By now it was very late.   I thought and I thought.  I scribbled and I scribbled.  I finally came up with:

Most of all the other beautiful things in life come by 2’s and 3’s, by dozens and hundreds.  Plenty of roses, stars, sunsets, rainbows, aunts, cousins, brothers and sisters.  But only one mother is given to you to cherish for life.  Even though she is gone now cherish your memories and hold them dear for they will get you through this.

I’m so sorry we were unable to be with you, but we were with you in spirit – each of us holding you up on one side as if being held by wings.

I know, kind of corny, but by the time I finished it was 6:00 A.M. and I just wanted to go to bed. The supplies I used are Stampin Up Night of Navy cardstock, DP Making Memories – Chloe’s Closet.

Copics:  E00, E11, R20, Y21, Y23, YR23, E35, B91, B93, B95, YR16, YR18, Y00, Y11, Y13, Y15, Y16, YG11, C1, C3, C8  and Copic Spicas Baby Blue, Sky Blue, Melon (green), Lemon.

I am entering this card in The Sugar Bowl Challenge .  I hope you enjoy my card…and I didn’t talk your ears off.  Until next time have a great life and keep smiling.

A Card For Michelle Oatman

I have already posted on my blog about Michelle and her injury.  There has been quit a drive for her for peple to send cards and make donations to help for her recovery.

You could send any card you wanted to her but I wanted to make one using one of the donkeys that was available….if you know about Michelle you understand why.  Anyway, I have been ill for the past 10 days and I just finished my card.  Unfortunately by the time I finished it and took the pictures of it….I missed the deadline by a couple of minutes, so I won’t be able to get in on the drawing.  That’s okay though.  What counts is the support we have given to Michelle in her time of need.
I thank those of you that have sent me emails asking me questions about her and also about Bella and her drive.  Everyone has been very supportive of both drives since I have posted them.
I must admit I was a little nervous about making Michelle a card.  I mean, come on, she is a top designer and I’m just little old me.  Then I decided it’s the thought that counts.  So here’s my card and I hope she enjoys it….again thanks to all of you that participated…I hope you got your cards done on time(-:

A Card For A Friend

A friend of mine has had 2 strokes within the last few months so I decided to make her a card.  The picture isn’t very good because it was taken at midnight when I had no natural light…so this was the best I could get.  We were leaving the next morning to visit her so I had no choice but to get the picture taken.
The cardstock is all Stampin Up and she is colored with copics.  I tried to blend her a little more than usual as if the light was coming straight at her. I don’t know if you can really tell by this by the picture or not.  I also tried adding white lines for movement…another new thing for me.  The card isn’t perfect but Nancy loved it and that’s all that mattered to me(-:
I am going to enter this card into The Wild Orchid Challenge ….say it with flowers.
I hope everyone is having a great weekend.  I look forard to posting something again soon.

Oh, I almost forgot something really important.  I was the lucky winner of the blog candy at Lol’s Blog.

Another Card For Bella

For those of you that have been following the story of  Bella here is another card I am going to send off to her today.  You can keep up with her progress by following Erin’s blog.  Bella is a beautiful young girl that is stronger than most all of us combined.  She and her family have been in my prayers daily even though I haven’t taken the time to send her as many cards as I had planned on.
Even though the blog candy that has been offered in Bella’s name is ending I urge everybody to continue in their support of Bella and her family.  We all have so much to be thankful for and it is always much better to give than receive.
If you are wanting to send a card to Bella the address is:

The Bella Tucker Fund
P.O. Box 199

A Card For Bella

Bella Tucker is an 8-year-old girl who attends South School Elementary in Londonderry, New Hampshire.  Bella came down with a near fatal infection on Easter Sunday. Doctors gave little hope for this third graders’ survival, but after five days in a coma she miraculously survived.
Unfortunately, her survival from this infection was not without significant cost.  The infection caused extensive tissue damage, and on April 27, 2010, Bella underwent quadruple amputation surgery and is currently facing an extremely long and hard recovery at Children’s Hospital in Boston with extensive rehabilitation to follow, as she learns to live life without her limbs.
Bella is part of a gymnastics team with the daughter of a fellow stamper.  As  a stamping community everyone is reaching out in any way they can.  You can help support Bella and her family too by visiting http://www.bellatucker.org/

There are, as always, generous hearts out there holding Blog Hops for Bella.  If you would like to make a card for Bella please do and then visit Denise to start the hop for this week and get the address for Bella’s card.  I hope every one of you will find it in your heart to give to this beautiful little girl.

This is my card for Bella.  She is a Sugar Nellie called Fragile Beauty stamped on Neenah paper.  Then I colored my own background with my copics to match the image (it took time but it was great fun).  Cardstock is Stampin Up Regal Rose, Purely Pomagranate and Basic Black.  I used two border punches and a little heart charm and of course bling:)
I tried to show you a better shot of the punches and bling but it didn’t work very well.  The copics used are:  E50  E51  R20, YR23  Y21  Y23, RV32  RV34  R39, G14  FYG2, B21  B23, Y06  YR04, E31  E35, Spicas.

I hope you enjoy this card and you get busy and make one for Bella too.  If I can make one anyone can LOL.  I am very bad about making cards as you can all see from my blog.  I’m trying to get better about it though.

Happy 4th Everyone!

I don’t really have anything to post today but I wanted to tell everyone Happy 4th of July! What a beautiful day it is here in Michigan. The weather is perfect…no rain clouds in sight – or predicted so far:)

I hope you all have great things planned for the day. Family barbecues are usually the biggie but today we are going to take a drive and go watch the fireworks out on Lake St Clair. We’ve done this in the past and it’s always awesome. We go to a little bar/restaurant with umbrella tables that sit out on a deck. About 200ft off the water and have dinner and cocktails while we ooh and aah over the beauty of the fireworks:) Don’t you just love the sounds everybody makes while they watch fireworks:)

Before I forget, I just came across a new blog IMPRESSIONS ARE MADE HERE where Andrea does absolutely beautiful work. She is offering a blog candy right now if you visit her before July 12. It’s well worth the visit just to see her creations…so stop on by and take time to look around. Here is a picture of everything one lucky person is going to win…and I’m crossing my fingers:)

Well, I have to go pack up the cooler and get a move on.

Kickin’ It For Michelle

I just visited one of my favorite blogs and found out the designer has had a terrible injury and needs our help.  I’m sure many of you have enjoyed her beautiful work over the years and I’m also sure your heart will go out to her just as mine has.  Please read the letter below that was put out by Stampavie and see how to help her out.

Dear friends,

We at Stampavie would very much appreciate if you would join us in supporting our US Representative, Design Team member and dear friend, Michelle Oatman.

On Wednesday evening, June 23, Michelle had an accident while tending her beloved donkeys which has left her blind in her right eye. She has shared the news of her accident in her blog post here (http://donkeysmiles.blogspot.com/2010/06/i-will-be-out-for-awhile-i-have-had.html) Michelle is an amazing stamper and is eager to be able to start crafting again. But she also has a lot of healing that needs to occur and she needs our support.

We at Stampavie want to help her on her road to recovery. While we all would like nothing more than to support her in person, some things are just not possible. So besides sending cyber-hugs, we are asking for PayPal donations which will be sent directly to Michelle to help “kick” the mounting medical costs associated with her surgeries and also to help her obtain an artificial eye.

To show your support for Michelle, please, please log into your PayPal account and make your donation payment, no matter how small, to the account info@stampavie.com.

Tina Wenke is also kindly working on a digital download (of a donkey, of course!) so please check back here for more details on that. You’ll be able to download it directly from our blog, all we ask in return is that you donate $3 to Michelle’s PayPal fund.

Michelle is a very loving and caring person and we are all lucky to call her “friend”! Michelle says that she is lucky to be married to her best friend. Together, they are parents to their 2 Toy Australian Shepherds, a cat, and their Miniature Donkeys that they raise. The love she gives her animals comes right back, as they keep her busy, entertained and happy. Now, we hope that the love she sends out to the stamping community and beyond will come back as well!

Could I ask you all to spread the word about this on your blogs, Facebook, Twitter etc, the more people who hear about this the better. Thanks for your help!

Thank You

Let’s Play in the Sugar Bowl & Cute Card Thursday

Today is a beautiful day here in Michigan.  No rain or storms and it’s not too hot outside.  I’m quite happy with myself just for getting this card not only finished, but also posted on time for these two challenges.

The first challenge is The Sugar Bowl Challenge something girlie and feminine using a Sugar Nellie image.

The next challenge is over at Cute Card Thursday where you had to reuse or recycle something to make your card.  The flower is from a wedding we went to and the blue ribbon is from my birthday last week.

The cardstock is Bordering Blue from Stampin Up and the DP….ummm can’t remember.  All colored with my Copics which I am still learning to work with.  Almost forgot, this is the first time I have colored on Neenah Classic paper and I must admit I like it very much.  The colors did not bleed at all and I was able to get into the tiny little flowers with no problem.

The colors used were:
E50 E51 R20
YR23 Y21 Y23
RV32 RV34 R39
G14 FYG2
B21 B23
Y06 YRO4

I also used multiple Spicas to add glitter but I’m sure you can’t tell that from my pictures.  My camera skills leave a lot to be desired.

That’s all for now.  We are getting ready to go out to dinner for our Anniversary, which was actually Saturday, but tonight the whole family goes out, not just mom and dad.  I hope everyone has a great night and hopefully I will post again soon. Actually I have to post soon because I have promised a blog candy.  I am going to make it in honor of my return to cards.  I hope you will keep your eyes opened for it.

A House Mouse Birthday Card

A birthday card for a dear friend.

This is a card I finished a couple of weeks ago but never got around to posting.  Sorry the picture isn’t very good.  I obviously need to learn how to use my camera a LOT better.  Although you can’t tell from the picture this came out really cute and I love all of the colors on it.This is also my first attempt at making my own paper rose with my Marvy Uchida punch.  It was actually kind of fun to make and I’m finding I like the idea of everything handmade on my cards.

Once more I will try to list all of the ingredients for my card.  I’m hoping this comes easier after a while because so far it seems like a chore.  I guess I just need to get a routine down…or maybe show a picture of all the copics like some others do…good idea!  Anyway, I used:

Stampin Up cardstock Elegant Eggplant, Tempting Turquoise, Taken With Teal and Basic Black.  The DP is K&Company Eloise.  I used Spellbinders ovals and scalloped ovals, Martha Stewart lace punch and SU corner punch.

Colored with copics:
E000, E00, E01, E02, R02 mouse face
E31, E33, E35 mouse fur
R29, R22, YG63 red berries
V15, V09 blackberries
R46, R24 raspberries
BV04, BV02 blueberries
Spicas in multiple colors to give splashes of light

Whew, I hope I got it all.  I hope my friend Eva likes her birthday card too.  If you feel like it let me know what you think.  Especially if I have listed everything wrong or there is an easier way to do it I would love your input.

I’m a Copic Certified Designer…WooHoo!

Hello everyone…I am so excited.

I am now a Copic Certified Designer!  Debbie Olson taught the class in Grand Rapids, MI on Saturday, June 12th and it was great fun.  I would recommend her as a teacher to anyone.  She is very casual and answers anything that’s thrown at her.  She even drew pictures on a board to give us better visuals of what she was saying.  Love all of her work anyway and her personality definitely matches the charm of her work.

I learned quite a bit about the markers themselves, like how I was refilling them incorrectly, and all of the different markers and the different tips on them.  That was actually quite educating to me.  The most versatile marker is the original Copic that you can get 9 different nibs for…and it has the perfect tip to get in all of those little hard to get areas. Anyway I could go on and on but this isn’t a class lol!

Debbie just emailed me my blog logo to put on my sidebar……

don’t you just love it?  I do.  Now I just have to go and put some of my new knowledge to work right? Unfortunately I’m still recovering from the trip and class.  It was a long day for me and it literally kicked my butt-but it was worth it!  It was also worth every penny I paid to go; so if anybody is wondering if they should spend the money or not—just do it! You get a little zip bag just filled with goodies.  All different kinds of copics and a couple of refills.  It probably all retails for about $70 so to me that brings down the cost of the class considerably.

Now I am off to add my Copic logo to my sidebar.

A Card For The Hanglar Challenge

I know it has been way too long since I have posted any cards but I hope to change that soon.  I finally have a craft area and it is beyond wonderful ~smile~

This is my very first time trying to post all of the ingredients I used on my card so please bear with me.

This card was made specifically for the Challenge at the new Hanglar Challenge Blog.

If you are going to check out the Hanglar blog you will also be interested in the blog candy going on at Iris’s blog because she is wanting to spread the word about the new blog too.  Be sure to check out both of the links…I’m sure you’ll be glad you did.

I used Stampin Up cardstock – Purely Pomegranante from the ’07-’08 In Colors and Old Olive.  The DP was K & Company “Classic K”.  The wreath was made from Spellbinders Eyelet Pendant and then just folded and the flower is one that I crocheted myself.  It was all colored with copics which I am just learning how to use. (Actually I am going to a class tomorrow to learn how to use them….the trainer is Debbie Olson yippee!!!)

Skin E00, E01, R02
Top & Hat RV11, RV32, RV34
Bottoms G21, G24, G63
Pot & Hearts R39
Hair & Shoes E31, E33, YR20, YR24
Blender O
Spica’s for a little sparkle

Did I do this right?  I hope so because it was a little intimidating for me.  Hope you enjoy the card and I’ll be back soon with more.  Before I go though I want to share a close up of the flower I crocheted, well, just because I guess;

While I wasn’t making cards I was making a bunch of flowers and decided it was time to try and use one.

Thanks for looking and I hope you have an awesome weekend.  I know I will….Copics – here I come ;0)

Finally….ALMOST Have a Craft Room

Well, I have just spent the majority of the holiday weekend trying to put together a craft area so that I can try to start making cards again.
In the past whenever I have tried to work on anything it has been on the kitchen table and that just doesn’t seem to work out.  When I
just so that I would quit whining about it.  Before he could change his mind I jumped on the idea and star
ted moving my stuff right in ~smile~get tired of  working on them there is a major mess…when hubby comes home there is a major mess…when I’m done there is a major mess…whenever I need something and can’t find it-it’s because there is a major mess.  You get the picture right.  Anyway hubby finally conceded to give up part of the office

When things are all done I will post some pictures but I’ve got to tell you it was awesome to sit at my own little table in my own little chair and play!  Even at midnight after hours of moving things and I couldn’t hardly move lol!
My mom lives with us and she calls it my Batcave because I don’t seem to want to come out.  I mean come on I have all of these cool toys, all in one place, that I couldn’t get to before!  Why would I come out now?

Okay, on to other things.  I have come across a new blog, new to me anyway, that is offering this amazing blog candy:

To check out this amazing candy, and the equally amazing lady behind it, just give True a visit.  Be sure to leave her some love cuz she really needs it right now.

Fellow Stamper Needs RAK From Us!

I can’t believe that I’m actually posting two times today.  We have a fellow stamper in need of happy cards for her sister.   So I am going to send off this Happy Hopper-Fancy Pants because she is one of my very favorite stamps.  You can’t help but smile just looking at this stamp…I can’t  anyway.

So, if you’re interested in helping out you can find all of the information you need on Lisa’s blog.
